Join a class

We welcome you to join us for an unforgettable evening filled with fun and the excitement of meeting new people who share your passion for music. The vast majority of people start Ceroc with no previous partner dance experience. It’s never too late to start.

Even if you’ve never danced before in your life, our beginner classes are designed to be easy to pick up. You’ll be welcomed with open arms, and our trusted crew are on hand to guide you through your first few sessions.

Class night at The Addison Centre, Bedford — Ceroc Beds & Bucks

Bedford Timetable

7:15pm – Doors Open – New members meet the taxi crew.

7:30pm – Beginners class – Everyone on the floor in the main hall.

8:15pm – Dance Practice – Short freestyle session for all.

8:30pm – Beginner Recap – Join our taxi crew in the small hall.

8:30pm – Intermediate Class – For more experienced dancers in the main hall. Resident teachers Marc & Rachel, or Hayley and Richard.

9:00pm – Freestyle – Social dancing for all. At Bedford, we play a full range of music, favouring rhythmic genres like Swing and Latin, known pop songs and chilled dance tracks. Occasionally, we host Motown & Soul-themed evenings.

10:30pm – Last Track – We always strive to give you over 90 minutes of freestyle time at Bedford, finishing the night with a chilled-out vibe.

No, there is no set course for you to enrol on. Every week, there will be several new dancers, and therefore, we always run a complete beginners’ lesson at the start of class nights. This means that you can turn up any week, at any venue, when you are free.

There is no need to bring a partner with you, as everyone will be moved around, allowing them to dance with a range of people during the lesson. Most people come on their own.

Whether you come alone, with a partner, or with a group of friends, you will get the chance to meet, dance, learn and interact with friendly people, just like you.

You do not need any particular clothing to attend a Ceroc evening. Anything goes – casual wear or smart dress. As long as you feel comfortable, it is up to you!

As for shoes, wear something that allows you to move freely on the dance floor. We recommend smooth-soled shoes and encourage you to avoid anything too grippy, such as sports trainers. 

Ceroc is an active dance, and you will get warm, so try to wear layers that you can remove if necessary.

Midweek classes are £10 for the whole evening. That includes the beginner class, the intermediate class, one-to-one support from our crew, and over 90 minutes of freestyle dancing.

New dancers — 6-4-3 offer. Six beginner classes for £30. Our half-price welcome bundle for people just starting out. Bought as a block on the door, valid for 6 months, and redeemable at any Ceroc Beds & Bucks class night.

Regular dancers — the Easy Rider card gives you 10 class nights for £80, saving you £20 compared to paying on the door each time. Pick one up at any class night and use it within 6 months.

Doors open at 7:15pm. Classes run from 7:30pm until 9pm. After that we dim the lights and the dancing continues until 10:30pm. You’re welcome to arrive at any point and leave whenever suits you.

Yes, since were are fully insured, everyone needs to become a Ceroc member to attend. You’ll pay a one-off fee of £2 and your lifetime membership card will grant you access to all Ceroc venues worldwide. 

Yes, we offer dance workshops for all levels, from beginners to advanced dancers. They are generally three hours long and cost between £20 and £30.

Often there is the option to buy advance tickets online. This helps us achieve a degree of gender balance among leaders and followers. On occasions, advance tickets may be cheaper as an incentive.

Yes, alongside Ceroc workshops, we specialise in SILC, Blues, Argentine Tango and Fusion.

Silc is a partner dance style designed to enhance connection and technique for dancing to slower music within the framework of Ceroc.

Blues is a slow and sensual partner dance, which is characterised by improvisation and connection with the music and your partner.

Argentine Tango is known for its musicality, elegant movements, and the close connection between partners. Argentine Tango music is unique in that it developed in complete unison with the dance. Traditional tango milongas focus on music from the 1920s through to the 1950s. It has its own rules and codes of conduct and is recognised worldwide. It is the original improvised social dance.

Fusion dancing blurs the boundaries of all the above. it shares the dynamics and embrace of Argentine Tango dancing, injecting the posture and mechanics of Tango lead and follow directly into the dance forms of Blues and SILC. It has clear-cut codes of movement with the DNA at the heart of the dance being that the leader is purely responsible for the followers weight change.
